Lending Relationship Manager

Location: Isle of Man
Term: Permanent (Minimum 4 days per week or equivalent pro-rated)

Cayman National Bank (Isle of Man) Limited (“the Bank”) is seeking an experienced Lending Relationship Manager to drive lending growth through customer-focused and risk-based relationship management.

This role will be the primary point of contact for new and existing customers, credit brokers, lawyers, and professional valuers. You will proactively manage all lending-related matters, from onboarding to ongoing administration, ensuring loans are appropriately structured, monitored, and compliant with legal and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include developing the Bank’s lending portfolio, conducting credit risk assessments, preparing submissions for Loan Officers and/or the Credit Committee, and maintaining accurate management information. The role also involves attending networking events, hosting client hospitality, and undertaking business development trips across the Isle of Man, UK, and international markets.

You will work closely with the Head of Banking to implement proactive business calling plans, produce effective management information, and collaborate with business development consultants and other Group departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Relationship Management

•   Support the Head of Banking in driving lending growth and customer recruitment/retention.

•   Manage and expand relationships with customers,  introducers/credit brokers, professional valuers, and lawyers in the Isle of Man and UK.

Client & Credit Assessment

•   Conduct credit risk assessments for new and existing loan facilities.

•   Collaborate with Risk and Compliance  teams to ensure AML/CFT/PF risk assessments are completed.

Business Development

•   Represent the Bank at networking events and hospitality functions.

•   Undertake local, UK, and international business development trips.

•   Promote the Bank’s customer proposition to external audiences.

Business Planning & Marketing 

•   Support proactive customer contact and business development plans.

•   Maintain and enhance lending management information (MI).

•   Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to promote lending and other services across digital and traditional channels.

Operational Efficiency

•   Identify and implement process improvements  to enhance efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education/Certification

•   Minimum O Level/GCSE (or equivalent) with passes in Mathematics and English.

•   Professional qualifications preferred but not essential.

Knowledge

•   Strong understanding of credit and risk assessment methodology.

•   Knowledge of personal and commercial banking products.

•   Familiarity with AML/CFT/PF requirements.

Experience

•   Previous experience  in credit and risk management roles.

•   Background in banking or financial services.

•   Credit & Risk: Ability to assess lending opportunities and prepare effective submissions.

•   Customer Service: Strong client focus and relationship-building skills.

•   Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal  ability.

•   Analytical Thinking: Risk-based approach to customer selection, retention,  and monitoring.

•   Confidence:  Ability to lead, challenge, and escalate issues when required.

•   Time Management: Skilled at prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.

•   Collaboration: Team player who works effectively across departments.

SALARY & BENEFITS

•   £50,000 – £60,000 per annum, depending  on experience.
