Meet the Cayman National team

Nigel Gautrey MA, Chartered MCSI, DipIoD, FLIBF

Nigel was born and educated in the UK and moved to the Isle of Man in 1995. He previously held leadership roles at a private bank, trust company and AIM-listed public company and has over 35 years combined experience in the financial services industry.

In 2017, Nigel then joined Cayman National as Managing Director of its banking and fiduciary businesses in the Isle of Man, as well as being appointed a director of the group’s Dubai operation.

He is a Fellow of the London Institute of Banking and Finance and a former President of its Isle of Man branch. In addition he holds a Masters Degree in E-Commerce, a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Securities and Investment Institute.

Barry Williams ALIBF, FICA

Born and educated in Manchester, England, Banking Director Barry Williams has over 30 years banking experience, both onshore and offshore, holding a variety of senior positions with two of the major UK banks before re-locating to the IOM over 20 years ago.

Moving offshore to take up a position as corporate manager with a major UK clearing bank, Barry then joined the Cayman National group in 1996 as Banking Operations Manager, before being appointed as a board director in 2006.

Barry Williams is an Associate of the London Institute of Banking and Finance and a Fellow of the International Compliance Association.

Roz Melia was appointed as Director of Cayman National Trust Company (Isle of Man) Limited in May 2017, having previously been Head of Fiduciary Services at Cayman National Bank and Trust Company (Isle of Man) Limited since September 2006. Roz previously held the position of Senior Vice President, Trust and Corporate Services with Cayman National Trust Co. Ltd. in the Cayman Islands until August 2006.

Roz has over 27 years in the fiduciary sectors in the Cayman Islands and the Isle of Man and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (“STEP”). In addition, she is the holder of the Institute of Directors’ combined Certificates in Company Direction.

Roz has considerable experience as both a trustee and director on trust and company structures and has developed long standing relationships with professional intermediaries both locally and overseas. She prides herself in her determination to lead by example which is reflected in her team's enthusiasm and commitment to deliver an exceptional service standard for clients.

Andrew Hardman ACIS

Andrew Hardman is a Chartered Company Secretary with over thirty years experience in the funds and global custody arena. He started his career in the North West of England and then moved to Jersey with Midland Bank Trust Corporation. Prior to joining Cayman National, Andrew headed the Isle of Man branch of BNP Paribas Securities Services, where he also served as Managing Director and Company Secretary of its trust company. He was for several years a senior manager with RBSI Custody Bank prior to its acquisition by BNP Paribas.

Having moved to the Isle of Man in 1987 to manage a fund dealing operation for an investment arm of TSB Bank, he was subsequently involved in the creation of a sister office in Luxembourg with an interlude as a Director of a private trust company. He has served on a number of local industry and professional bodies including as a committee member of the Isle of Man Fund Managers Association.

Andrew Cubbon ACMI

Andrew began his career in banking with Isle of Man Bank for several years before moving to Northern Bank to work on a project setting up a new branch on the Island.

In 1999, he moved into a human resources role at Abbey International whilst the company went through a period of rapid expansion. During his 8 years at Abbey International he also undertook a role as project manager working across the whole offshore group and in the UK.

He joined Cayman National as Operations Manager in 2007, and has responsibility for HR, IT, and Facilities management.

Andrew is a member of the Chartered Management Institute and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He is also Prince 2 qualified.

Audrey Butterworth FICA CeMAP
Compliance Manager

Audrey was born and educated in Ireland before moving to the Isle of Man in 1999.

She has worked in the finance industry for over 15 years focusing on Compliance and Risk Management. Before joining Cayman National, Audrey worked for Nedbank Private Wealth.

Audrey is a Fellow of the International Compliance Association, holds BCS Certificate in Data Protection and the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice from the London Institute of Banking and Finance.

Gary Kermode FCCA
Financial Controller

Gary was born and educated on the Isle of Man. He also attended the University of Northumbria and began his accountancy training with Pannell Kerr Forster in 1996. His career evolved and in 2001 Gary began working in the Fund Industry. Prior to joining Cayman National, he was Fund Administration Manager for HSBC Securities Services on the Isle of Man.

Gary is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Colin Peters MLIBF DipBB&C
Banking Manager

Colin has over 20 years of experience in the international finance sector, having worked for investment houses and trust companies before moving into banking in 2005, working for one of the major UK clearing banks in the Isle of Man. In 2011 he was seconded to Guernsey for 3 years as a Senior Relationship Manager within the bank’s Commercial Banking department, before returning to the Isle of Man in 2014. Colin has undertaken various roles within banking including business development, commercial lending, foreign exchange and liquidity management.

Colin is also involved with the Isle of Man Bankers Association, is a member of the London Institute of Banking and Finance as well as being a committee member of its Isle of Man Branch. Colin also acts as a trustee on a couple of local charities.
